Steele County Honor Guard

The Steele County Honor Guard is a distinguished coalition of veterans from Owatonna American Legion Post 77, Owatonna VFW Post 3723, and Owatonna AMVETS Post 23. United in service and tradition, these dedicated members work together to honor and commemorate those who have served our nation.

Members of the American Legion Honor Guard wear traditional blue uniforms, while participants from the VFW and AMVETS are distinguished by their brown uniforms—each representing their organization’s proud heritage.

The Honor Guard provides military funeral honors for veterans, ensuring each service is conducted with dignity, precision, and respect. In addition, they perform ceremonial duties at community events, present and retire the American flag with proper protocol, and stand ready to serve whenever their presence is called upon.
