Who We Are

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 77 of Owatonna, Minnesota is a welcoming and dedicated group of volunteers committed to supporting veterans, military families, and the greater Owatonna community.

Unit 77 is made of individuals from all walks of life who share a common goal: to give back to those who have served our country. Whether organizing local events, supporting youth programs, or assisting veterans in need, the members of the Auxiliary bring compassion, energy, and a strong sense of purpose to everything they do.

Monthly Meetings

The Owatonna American Legion Auxiliary Unit 77 meets once every month on the 1st Tuesday at 6:45 PM. Join us for a meeting and learn what we are about!

Who can Join

You must be a grandmother, mother, sister, spouse, or direct/ adopted female descendant of:

  • A member of the American Legion.

  • A man or woman who served between 4/6/1917 to 11/11/1918, or anytime after December 7, 1941.

  • Of all men and women who died after honorable discharge or in the line of duty any time after December 7, 1941 or the periods mentioned above.

The American Legion Girls State is a highly respected educational program for US high school students.

The Americanism Essay Contest was created to teach students the value of patriotism and what it means to be Americans.

ALA Units sponsor poppy poster contests in local schools.
