Who We Are
The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron 77 of the Owatonna American Legion in Minnesota is a proud group of individuals who honor the service and sacrifice of veterans by continuing their legacy of service. Open to the male descendants of veterans, the Sons work closely with Legionnaires and Auxiliary members to support community programs, veterans’ initiatives, and patriotic events that enrich the Owatonna area. Their contributions reflect a deep respect for those who served, as well as a commitment to making a positive difference in their community.
Monthly Meetings
The Owatonna Sons of The American Legion meet monthly on the third Saturday of each month at 11:00 AM. Attend a meeting and see what we're all about.

Our Impact
The Sons of The American Legion raise funds and donate regularly to a variety of organizations as follows:

Huskies Food Pantry

Steele County Food Shelf

Legionville Safety Camp (We sponsor two children each year!)
Who can Join
You must be one of the following:
-
The male descendant (including stepsons and adopted sons) of a current member of The American Legion.

The male descendant of a veteran who served from December 7, 1941 to today.
-
The male descendant of a veteran who died after his/her honorable discharge from any service from December 7, 1941 to today.

ANNUAL EVENTS & FUNDRAISERS
The S.A.L. starts selling raffle tickets in the fall for the drawing in December each year. Ask about tickets at our post!

The S.A.L. holds a Speakeasy Fundraiser each year in January. Folks are encouraged to dress up! Watch our calendar for dates and details.

S.A.L. yearly Cornhole Tournament is held each fall and raises funds for veterans and the community.
